Young Child provides a pressure-free, developmentally appropriate transition where your child can musically succeed before taking on more formal instruction. It provides the opportunity to explore and develop skills in singing voice, accurate rhythm, creative movement and dance, reading and writing musical symbols and notation, and playing authentic pre-keyboard, string and woodwind instruments both solo and in ensembles.

Your child will develop their singing and instrument playing skills while they learn the symbols and vocabulary of music making. Students are introduced to the glockenspiel in the first year, and the dulcimer and recorder in the second year. Through creative, active learning opportunities, your child will begin to read music and to create musical compositions, to explore and identify orchestral instruments, become familiar with master works, and discover music from other cultures.
